Historic pub gets listed building consent

Ever increasing popularity means the kitchen area needs extending. Not so easy, especially in these times where decent pub gardens are sought after. Traditionally the pub 'yard' was just that. Barrels, horses, storage, very back of house.

So how do you create a larger kitchen without degrading the pub garden? The project actually meant that a few back of house issues could all be sorted at the same time. From what started as a 'shed' (our original brief) the pub will now have properly organised firewood storage, barrel storage, bin storage, a heated, covered outside area for patrons and a decent sized prep-room for the kitchen.

The building will be clad in rough sawn English larch, and the large opening is spanned using a 300mm x 75mm air dried oak beam sourced from our favorite timber yard in Cirencester.

A builder has been appointed, and works are commencing this May.
